RPO Rawalpindi holds open courts, directs officers to resolve public complaints within timeframe
RAWALPINDI, Sep 21 (APP):Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi, Region Babar Sarfraz Alpa held open courts at Saddar Barooni and Cantt police stations and directed concerned officers to address public complaints in accordance with the law and submit reports within the prescribed timeframe.
City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera and other senior police officers were also present.
Citizens presented their problems, complaints and applications directly to the RPO.
Babar Sarfraz Alpa listened the complaints and issued on-the-spot directions to the relevant officers for their resolution.
The RPO instructed officers to process every application strictly according to law and merit and ensure that citizens were not unnecessarily made to visit police stations or offices repeatedly.
He also directed the concerned officers to complete action on complaints and submit reports to the RPO office within the stipulated timeframe.
He stressed that police officials should adopt a courteous, respectful and responsible attitude towards citizens, listen to complainants patiently and avoid unnecessary delays in resolving their issues.
The RPO also directed officers to complete investigations of pending cases on merit at the earliest, ensure progress in investigations and fix responsibility in cases of negligence or unnecessary delay.
He further called for improvements in the quality of investigations into serious criminal cases.
Babar Sarfraz Alpa said the prime objective of open courts was to ensure the provision of justice to citizens at their doorstep and facilitate the prompt resolution of complaints related to police matters.
He added that all available resources were being utilised to protect the lives and property of citizens, ensure timely justice and address public complaints. He reiterated that public service, resolution of citizens’ issues in accordance with the law and transparency in policing would be ensured.
