Jinnah Peoples Train rolls out from Carriage Factory

ISLAMABAD, Sep 21 (APP):The Jinnah Peoples Train rolled out from the Carriage Factory under the direction and supervision of Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, marking a significant step towards improving affordable and safe transportation facilities for the people of Balochistan.

The coaches of the Jinnah People’s Train were manufactured at the Carriage Factory in a record period of just four months, reflecting the commitment and hard work of Pakistan Railways’ workers, said a news release.

The workers of the Carriage Factory bid farewell to the train with pride and enthusiasm, expressing satisfaction over the successful completion of a project accomplished through their collective efforts.

The restoration of the Jinnah Peoples Train is a practical manifestation of the special cooperation extended by the Government of Balochistan and the efforts of Pakistan Railways, the minister said.

Hanif Abbasi expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister of Balochistan and the provincial government for their cooperation in making the project possible.

The minister said that, for the first time in the history of Pakistan Railways, public welfare projects were being given practical shape through collaboration among the provinces.

“Pakistan Railways is not the institution of any single province; it belongs to the entire country and serves as a strong link connecting all parts of Pakistan,” he said.

The Jinnah People’s Train will soon commence operations from Sariab to Kuchlak, providing affordable, safe and improved travel facilities to the people of Balochistan, particularly students, women, children, workers and other citizens.

As part of the initiative, facilities at Sariab, Kuchlak, Sheikh Manda, Balleli, GOR Halt and Quetta railway stations have also been improved and upgraded.

Muhammad Hanif Abbasi said the train would play an important role in facilitating public mobility and further strengthening the connectivity of Balochistan with the national railway network.

He said the government was expanding the scope of public service and national connectivity through Pakistan Railways with the cooperation of the provinces.

The departure of the Jinnah Peoples Train from the Carriage Factory was marked by a festive atmosphere, with workers visibly pleased and proud to see the train they had built through their hard work begin its journey.
