FAISALABAD, Sep 20 (APP):More than 5,400 aspiring medical and dental students appeared in the University of Health Sciences (UHS) admission test in Faisalabad on Sunday amid comprehensive administrative and security arrangements while the examination centers at Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) Old Campus and Divisional Public School & College (DPSC) provided a calm and well-managed environment for the candidates and their attendants.
A spokesman for local administration said that total 5,408 candidates had registered for the test including 3,945 female candidates at GCUF Old Campus and 1,463 male candidates at Divisional Public School & College.
He said that the district administration and police made elaborate arrangements at both examination centers to facilitate candidates and ensure security throughout the test.
Dedicated parking facilities, shaded seating areas for parents and attendants, clean drinking water and washroom facilities were made available at the venues, he added.
He said that on the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nauman Siddiq, Assistant Commissioner (AC) City Aurangzeb Goraya and other district officers remained present at the examination centers and continuously monitored the arrangements.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nauman Siddiq said that provision of a peaceful and comfortable examination environment was the administration’s foremost priority, adding that special attention had been given to facilitating students and their parents.
He said that effective parking arrangements had been ensured at both centers where more than 1,300 motorcycles and over 1,000 cars were accommodated without disrupting traffic flow.
More than 50 workers of Faisalabad Parking Company performed duties at the centers and helped manage vehicular movement while no complaint regarding parking arrangements was received during the examination, he added.
The district administration also ensured coordination among the relevant departments to maintain security, facilitate entry and exit of candidates and address the needs of parents and attendants.
Parents and attendants accompanying the candidates expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made by the district administration and said that availability of basic facilities and orderly parking contributed to a smooth examination process.
