NUST organises Green Walk to mark 10th anniversary of IDUS
ISLAMABAD, Sep 20 (APP):The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) Islamabad campus organised a Green Walk to promote environmental responsibility, sustainability and healthy living.
The Green Walk brought together the university community, led by Rector NUST Dr Muhammad Zahid Latif, in a collective expression of environmental role and care.
The event marked the 10th anniversary of International Day of University Sport (IDUS), with the International University Sports Federation (FISU) launching its global “10 Years – 10 Kilometers” initiative, inviting universities worldwide to organise a 10-kilometer sporting or physical activity.
The walk culminated with an address by Rector, who highlighted the importance of a healthy lifestyle and regular physical activity in nurturing a healthier, more energetic and balanced community.
He encouraged the NUST community to make wellness, physical activity and healthy choices an enduring part of everyday life. The event also raised awareness against drug abuse, advocating for a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.
