Digital systems introduced at DIKhan Trauma Centre to improve pharmacy, lab services
Dera Ismail Khan, Sep 20 (APP):The management of District Headquarters Teaching Hospital, Medical Teaching Institution Dera Ismail Khan has introduced digital systems at the Trauma Centre to improve pharmacy and laboratory services and facilitate patients.
Hospital Director Dr Farrukh Jamil formally inaugurated the digital system at the Trauma Pharmacy, marking an important step towards modernizing the provision and management of medicines at the facility.
Under the initiative, a separate pharmacy counter has also been established for male patients to ensure smoother dispensing of medicines and reduce inconvenience for patients and their attendants. The digital system is aimed at improving record management, transparency and efficiency in pharmacy operations.
The Trauma Centre management has also digitalized the laboratory report-generating system, converting the process of preparation, recording and provision of laboratory reports to a computerized and online system.
Speaking on the occasion, Hospital Director Dr Farrukh Jamil said the introduction of digital systems was part of the hospital management’s efforts to modernize healthcare services through technology. He said computerized systems would help improve record management, streamline service delivery and provide patients with timely and efficient facilities.
He said particular attention was being given to improving patient convenience and ensuring greater transparency and efficiency in different service areas of the hospital.
Trauma Centre Manager Muhammad Umair Khan said the digitalization of pharmacy and laboratory services would make routine procedures more organized and efficient. He said the online laboratory reporting system would facilitate the timely preparation, recording and delivery of reports, while the digital pharmacy system would help improve medicine dispensing and record management.
He added that the establishment of a separate counter for male patients would further facilitate medicine provision and help improve the overall flow of patients at the Trauma Pharmacy.
The Trauma Centre management appreciated the efforts of the staff and relevant teams involved in introducing and implementing the digital systems, terming the initiative a significant step towards improving patient care and bringing hospital services in line with modern healthcare practices.
