Rescue 1122 reviews emergency preparedness amid ongoing operations in CRBC affected areas
Dera Ismail Khan , Sep 20 (APP):Rescue 1122 Dera Ismail Khan has continued relief, rescue, dewatering and recovery operations in areas affected by the recent incident of canal breach at the Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC), with rescue teams and recovery machinery actively engaged in assisting the affected population.
According to the Rescue 1122 media coordinator, specialised recovery machinery has been deployed in the affected areas to retrieve vehicles and other resources stranded in water and facilitate their safe recovery.
Rescue teams are also working in coordination with the district administration to continuously monitor the situation, provide timely assistance to affected people, facilitate safe evacuation and respond to emergency calls.
Meanwhile, District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Dera Ismail Khan Muhammad Arif Khan, accompanied by the Motor Transport Officer, visited Rescue Station 66 and reviewed the operational preparedness and administrative arrangements at the station.
During the visit, the District Emergency Officer inspected furniture and other equipment recently received from Rescue 1122 headquarters and reviewed their availability, condition and record. He also inspected rescue vehicles, emergency equipment and other essential resources to ensure that all operational assets remained functional and ready for deployment during emergencies.
The District Emergency Officer also reviewed the attendance, duty positions and performance of the station staff and issued instructions to ensure that all rescue vehicles, equipment and station facilities remained in a state of readiness for providing prompt and effective emergency services to the public.
In another inspection, Muhammad Arif Khan visited the district store room and reviewed the availability and record of essential emergency stock, including rescue equipment, dewatering pumps, outboard motors, inflatable boats, medicines and other supplies.
He checked the indent book, store records and stock registers and directed the concerned staff to ensure timely completion and accuracy of all records. The expiry dates, quantities, storage conditions and usability of medicines were also examined to ensure the availability of essential supplies during emergencies.
The District Emergency Officer directed the staff to regularly update records of rescue equipment, medicines and other essential items, identify medicines approaching expiry in a timely manner, replenish shortages through proper indents and maintain cleanliness, order and appropriate storage arrangements in the district store.
He further instructed the concerned officials to keep all emergency equipment and essential resources in fully operational condition so that rescue operations could continue without interruption whenever required.
Meanwhile, on the instructions of the District Emergency Officer, a special cleanliness and maintenance campaign was also carried out at all Rescue 1122 stations across the district.
During the campaign, the premises, rooms and other relevant areas of rescue stations were thoroughly cleaned, while rescue vehicles, emergency equipment and other essential resources were also cleaned and inspected.
Rescue personnel examined the condition and availability of vehicles and equipment during the activity to ensure that all resources remained functional and ready for immediate emergency response.
Speaking on the occasion, District Emergency Officer Muhammad Arif Khan said that maintaining operational readiness, proper equipment management and cleanliness at rescue stations was essential for ensuring an effective emergency response.
He directed all Station House In-Charges and concerned personnel to make cleanliness, regular inspection and maintenance of rescue vehicles and emergency equipment part of their routine responsibilities.
He also stressed that all stations, vehicles, equipment and emergency supplies should remain fully prepared so that timely rescue and relief services could be provided to citizens whenever required.
