Pakistan Joins SCO Fellows in Launching International Education Alliance for Traditional Medicine

BEIJING, Sep 20 (APP):Pakistan joined fellow Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states on Sept. 17 in launching the International Education Alliance for Techniques of Traditional Medicine, a landmark initiative aimed at aligning education standards, harmonizing curricula and facilitating mutual recognition of qualifications across the region.
The launch took place during the 2026 SCO Forum on Traditional Medicine, held from Sept. 16 to 18 at the China (Nanchang) Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Innovation City in Ganjiang New Area.
The forum, themed “Empowering Traditional Medicine with Modern Technology to Co-build Human Health for All,” is co-hosted by the Jiangxi Provincial People’s Government and the SCO Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission, China Economic Net reported.
The initiative, jointly signed by overseas institutions including the China Pakistan Medical Association and domestic universities such as Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, will pursue joint technical training programs, cross-border education cooperation, an international curriculum resource library, shared academic exchange platforms, collaborative education research and joint scientific research.
It also aims to carry out public science outreach in multiple languages to introduce the health concepts and technical value of traditional medicine to the broader public.
