RAWALPINDI, Sep 18 (APP):Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi, Farhan Aslam has directed the traffic wardens to take indiscriminate action against the illegal market of used vehicles organized here every Friday along Murree Road near Rehmanabad Metro Bus Station.
More than 53 traffic police personnel and two vehicle lifters have been deployed for the operation. In his statement on the occasion, the CTO said vehicles parked in no-parking zones or causing obstruction to the smooth flow of traffic would be fined and could also face punitive action.
CTO Farhan Aslam said the Jumma Bazaar, being held on Murree Road, had no legal status and that no leniency would be offered to those causing inconvenience to other road users.
He said multiple warnings had already been issued regarding the illegal Jumma Bazaar of vehicles. He said the objective of the action is to ensure smooth traffic flow while providing other road users with their rightful access to the roads.
“An organized traffic system requires every individual to play their role responsibly,” CTO Farhan Aslam and added that all available resources were being utilised to keep traffic flow smoothly across the city.
