DIG Ali reviews CIA performance, orders action against vehicle theft, robbery gangs

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad Ali Waseem  directed the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) to intensify action against active gangs involved in car and motorcycle theft and street robberies across the federal capital.

An official told APP on Friday that the DIG issued the directions during a visit to the CIA, where he inspected the record room, lock-up and other sections and reviewed the unit’s overall performance and investigation work.
During the visit, Ali also held an introductory meeting with CIA In-charge DSP Suleman Shah, the in-charge of the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Unit (AVLU) and investigation officers.
The DIG Ali directed officers to ensure the arrest of proclaimed offenders and criminals with previous records and make operations against criminal elements more effective.
He ordered strong action against those involved in the buying and selling of stolen cars, motorcycles and their parts, saying the entire network behind vehicle theft should be targeted.
Ali asked officers to perform their duties with dedication, honesty and responsibility, warning that negligence, carelessness and corruption would not be tolerated.
He said upholding the law and ensuring timely justice for citizens remained among the top priorities of Islamabad Police.
