Chairman CDA directs timely completion of development projects

The Chairman issued the directives during a detailed field visit to various project sites, where he reviewed the progress, quality of construction and implementation schedules of ongoing development schemes, said a press released issued here.
Member Building, Member Environment, DG Works, DG Infrastructure and other senior CDA officers accompanied him during the visit.
Project directors, engineers, consultants and representatives of executing agencies briefed the Chairman about the progress of different projects, completed works, ongoing activities and issues affecting implementation.
The Chairman directed the concerned formations to accelerate work but ensure that construction remained in line with approved designs, technical specifications and quality-control requirements.
He also ordered regular inspections and effective supervision of projects at every stage and directed contractors to comply with contractual obligations.
During the visit, progress on roads, bridges, underpasses, drainage systems, pedestrian facilities, landscaping and other infrastructure projects was reviewed.
The Chairman directed officers to promptly resolve technical, administrative and operational issues that could cause delays. He also stressed coordination among CDA formations, consultants and contractors to ensure the timely completion of different components of development schemes.
He directed project teams to give priority to public convenience during construction by ensuring proper traffic management, pedestrian safety and accessibility around project sites. Construction debris and materials should be removed promptly, while cleanliness on adjoining roads should be maintained.
The Chairman further directed CDA members, senior officers and project directors to personally monitor development projects and conduct regular site inspections.
He said the progress of projects should be reviewed regularly and issues requiring administrative or technical intervention should be brought forward immediately for resolution.
