LAHORE, Sep 17 (APP):Around 2,000 Class-IV posts have been abolished across District Education Authorities (DEAs) in Punjab, according to official sources.
The abolished posts include positions of watchmen, security guards, gardeners and office attendants (Naib Qasids).
According to the sources, 770 posts of watchmen and security guards, 525 posts of gardeners and 705 posts of office attendants have been abolished across the province.
District-wise data showed that the highest number of posts, 120, were abolished in Rahim Yar Khan, followed by Faisalabad with 95, Bahawalpur 93, Vehari 88, Sargodha 82, Sialkot 76 and Bahawalnagar 72.
Similarly, 58 posts were abolished in Lahore, 56 in Rawalpindi, 55 in Okara and 54 in Multan.
The decision will reduce the sanctioned strength of Class-IV employees in District Education Authorities across Punjab.
