Punjab intensifies crackdown on pressure horns, excessive honking

A strict crackdown against the use of pressure horns is underway across Punjab, with enforcement actions witnessing a 252 percent increase across the province.

LAHORE, Sep 17 (APP):A strict crackdown against the use of pressure horns is underway across Punjab, with enforcement actions witnessing a 252 percent increase across the province.
According to a spokesperson, heavy fines were imposed on more than 4,500 vehicles found using pressure horns during the last 48 hours.
The spokesperson said that more than 34 government vehicles were also fined for using pressure horns, while strict action was being taken against the practice of continuous and unnecessary honking.
DIG (Head) Traffic Police Punjab, Muhammad Waqas Nazir said that operations to curb noise pollution were continuing across the province.
He stressed that effective control of noise pollution required the cooperation of citizens and urged the public to refrain from using pressure horns and unnecessary honking.
