ISLAMABAD, Sep 16 (APP):Gold prices in the country surged by Rs7,900 per tola on Wednesday, with the price of 24-karat gold reaching Rs457,236 against Rs449,336 recorded on the previous trading day, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
The price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams increased by Rs6,773 to Rs392,006 from Rs385,233, while that of 22-karat gold rose by Rs6,208 to Rs359,351 from Rs353,143.
In the international market, gold prices increased by $79 to $4,347 per ounce from $4,268.
Meanwhile, silver prices also witnessed an upward trend, with 24-karat silver per tola rising by Rs140 to Rs6,942 from Rs6,802.
The price of 24-karat silver per 10 grams increased by Rs120 to Rs5,951 from Rs5,831, while international silver prices rose by $1.40 to $64.64 per ounce from $63.23.
