57 direct hooks, five transformers disconnected in DIKhan PESCO operation

Dera Ismail Khan , Sep 16 (APP):The PESCO Dera Ismail Khan Circle continued its anti-power theft campaign, taking action against electricity theft, direct hooking and illegal connections in City-II, Mandhran, Daraban and Paharpur sub-divisions.

In City-II Sub-Division, 28 direct hooks were removed and two spans of low-tension (LT) line were dismantled in Muriali on the 11-KV Muriali -I feeder. Eight connections linked with the 200-KVA Madni Town transformer were checked, of which seven were found clear while one was a defaulter. Seven meters were shifted to the transformer pole, LT transformer bushes were secured and eight First Information Reports (FIRs) were submitted to police.

In Mohallah Essar on the Muriali-II feeder, eight more direct hooks were removed and eight FIRs were submitted to police. The LT line neutral conductor, which had earlier been replaced with an insulated conductor, was again found damaged allegedly by power thieves.

In Mandhran Sub-Division, 21 direct connections were removed in Naqshband Colony, while a 25-KVA transformer being operated through a direct connection was disconnected.

In Daraban Sub-Division, HT branches of three transformers were disconnected at Zafarabad on the Kotla Habib feeder due to direct hooking and non-payment of electricity dues.

Similarly, in Paharpur Sub-Division, two 50-KVA transformers were disconnected at Aliabad Shabirwala and Basti Bilalabad.

According to PESCO officials, a total of 57 direct hooks/connections were removed, five transformers disconnected, two spans of LT line dismantled and seven meters shifted during the operation. Eight FIRs were also submitted to police.

PESCO officials said the anti-theft campaign would continue across the Dera Ismail Khan Circle to curb electricity theft, illegal connections and power losses.

They urged consumers to use electricity through legal connections and pay their outstanding dues regularly.
