Rescue 1122 remains on alert as rain continues in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI, Sep 15 (APP):Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi has remained on high alert in view of rainfall in the city, with emergency teams deployed at vulnerable points and low-lying areas to respond to any emergency.
According to Rescue 1122 officials, personnel have been deployed around Nullah Lai, particularly at Katarian and Gawalmandi, besides other vulnerable locations, while the situation is being continuously monitored.
The rescue service has directed its field teams to remain prepared for possible water accumulation, urban flooding and other rain-related emergencies.
The district administration and relevant departments are also monitoring the water flow in Nullah Lai and other drains. Heavy machinery and dewatering equipment have been kept ready in vulnerable areas to deal with any emergency.
Officials said citizens, particularly residents of low-lying areas, had been advised to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary movement near nullahs and accumulated rainwater.
Rescue 1122 said its emergency response teams would remain available to provide immediate assistance to citizens in case of any rain-related incident.
