PSX turns bullish, gains over 1,421 points

ISLAMABAD, Sep 15 (APP):The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bullish trend on Tuesday, gaining 1,421.67 points, a positive change of 0.85 percent, to close at 169,392.33 points against 167,970.66 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 372.016 million shares, compared to 570.472 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value stood at Rs17.210 billion, down from Rs24.672 billion.
Market capitalisation increased to Rs18.857 trillion from Rs18.728 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 494 companies that traded in the ready market, 280 posted gains, 166 suffered losses, while 48 remained unchanged, reflecting an overall bullish momentum in the market.
Cnergyico PK led the volume chart with 56.229 million shares, followed by Media Times Ltd with 39.882 million shares and Pak Refinery with 22.510 million shares.
Among the top gainers, Pakistan Services Limited surged by Rs95.17 to close at Rs1,291.39, while Sapphire Fibres Limited gained Rs32.31 to settle at Rs1,064.44.
On the losing side, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited fell by Rs174.51 to close at Rs23,934.71, while Buxly Paints Limited declined by Rs75.11 to Rs676.02.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 100.221 million shares with a traded value of Rs6.330 billion, compared with 147.996 million shares worth Rs8.070 billion in the previous session.
Of the 311 companies traded in the DFC market, 208 advanced, 94 declined, and 9 remained unchanged.
