Fall 2026 semester begins at FUUAST with orientation for new students
ISLAMABAD, Sep 14 (APP):The Fall 2026 semester has started at the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST), Islamabad with an orientation programme was arranged to welcome the new students on their first day at the university.
The excitement of young students, who stepped into the university with new dreams and strong determination, was clearly visible. Teachers and senior students from different departments were present to welcome and guide the newcomers.
Students were excited to start their professional academic journey with prestigious university. Many new students said they wanted to make education and research an important part of their lives.
They expressed their desire to meet the expectations of their parents and make a positive contribution to the country.
The orientation for AI and Soft Engineering programme was held at the university auditorium. Faculty members welcomed the students and spoke about the importance and career scope of their fields.
Welcoming the new students of Mass Communication and International Relations, Head of Department Dr Faisal Javaid said that the Mass Communication Department focuses on practical training.
He said the University official channel PEHEL News remains active throughout the semester, while the DEEEP newspaper and PEHEL Magazine also provide students with opportunities for practical learning.
He added that several students who gained practical media experience from the Mass Communication department are now working at good positions in Pakistan’s mainstream media.
Students of International Relations were also informed about opportunities, including scholarships abroad. The department also offers courses in Russian and Turkish languages.
The new students of the Economics Department were welcomed by Head of Department Dr Sadaf Shahab, Dr Tariq Mahmood and other faculty members. In the BBA department, Head of Department Dr. Mumtaz and other teachers briefed students about the scope and importance of the field.
Director Admissions Dr Ahmed Raza said that the large number of new admissions was the result of the vision and continuous efforts of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari. He said students would have opportunities to develop their careers and skills at the university.
