Charsadda police raid dance party, arrest five

Acting on complaints from local residents, Charsadda police raided a dance party on Mardan Road and arrested five people, including two female dancers, over alleged involvement in obscene and immoral activities. 

PESHAWAR, Sep 14 (APP):Acting on complaints from local residents, Charsadda police raided a dance party on Mardan Road and arrested five people, including two female dancers, over alleged involvement in obscene and immoral activities.
Police said musical equipment was also seized during the raid. The crackdown was carried out on the directives of District Police Officer Charsadda, Rifatullah Khan, as part of efforts to promptly address public complaints and maintain a peaceful, respectable and healthy environment in Charsadda district.
Led by DSP Nigah Hussain, SHO city police station Khan Zaib Khan conducted the raid at Gulbahar No. 2 on Mardan Road following complaints about activities allegedly contrary to social and cultural norms.
Police said five people, including two female dancers, were taken into custody during the raid and musical equipment was recovered from the venue.
A case has been registered against the arrested individuals, and further legal proceedings are underway in accordance with the law.
He said police would continue taking prompt and impartial action in response to citizens’ complaints in accordance with the law.
