Pakistan’s literary legacy on display at Abu Dhabi Int’l Book Fair 2026
ISLAMABAD, Sep 13 (APP):Pakistan Pavilion has been set up at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2026 to showcase the country’s rich literary and intellectual heritage and promote its enduring culture of reading.
The pavilion features a carefully selected collection of books representing Pakistan’s literary and scholarly traditions, presented by the National Book Foundation (NBF) and Book Corner Pakistan, said a message received here on Sunday.
Pakistan Pavilion will be formally inaugurated by Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates Shafqat Ali Khan on Monday, September 14, at 2:00 p.m. at Hall 5, Stand 5E24, ADNEC Centre, Abu Dhabi.
The collection includes books on Urdu literature, children’s literature, history, research, education and Pakistan’s diverse literary traditions, offering international readers, writers, publishers and members of the academic community an opportunity to explore the country’s intellectual and literary landscape.
NBF’s participation in the international book fair reflects its commitment to promoting books and reading while highlighting Pakistan’s literary and intellectual heritage at the global level.
According to the NBF, participation in international book fairs helps promote intellectual exchange and opens new avenues for literary and cultural cooperation. Such gatherings provide a common platform for publishers, writers, translators, researchers and readers from different countries, helping strengthen intellectual and cultural ties through books.
Director Headquarters, NBF, Murad Ali Mohmand is participating in the event, while Sarmad Khan, Chief Executive Officer, Urdu World Books, and Amar Shahid, Director, Book Corner Pakistan, are also present at the Pakistan Pavilion.
Their participation reflects collaboration between public- and private-sector institutions for the promotion of books, reading and literature.
Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2026 is being held from September 13 to 18 and remains open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Publishers, writers, authors, researchers, translators and organizations associated with the global book industry are participating in the fair.
Pakistan Pavilion has emerged as an important platform for introducing Pakistan’s rich intellectual and literary traditions, particularly the breadth of Urdu literature and the country’s scholarly heritage, to international readers, authors and publishers.
