CTO hails traffic wardens for smooth traffic flow on Peshawar Road
RAWALPINDI, Sep 13 (APP):Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam has appreciated traffic police officers and personnel for ensuring smooth traffic flow during ongoing work on the Peshawar Road mega project and thanked citizens for their cooperation.
According to a press release issued here Sunday, Farhan Aslam said traffic officers and wardens were working round the clock to facilitate motorists during the road project.
More than 135,000 vehicles used to travel on Peshawar Road daily, making their diversion to alternative routes a major challenge.
He said a comprehensive diversion plan had been implemented for public convenience, with more than 250 traffic officers and personnel performing duties around the clock to regulate traffic and maintain smooth flow on major roads.
The CTO said the effective strategy, tireless efforts of traffic wardens and cooperation from citizens had helped maintain traffic flow despite the ongoing roadwork.
Citizens are being informed about alternative routes through banners, official social media platforms, FM 88.6 and traffic wardens deployed along major roads.
Farhan Aslam said the temporary inconvenience faced by citizens during the Peshawar Road work would ultimately contribute to greater convenience in the future. He added that traffic management in the city would be further improved through continued cooperation between citizens and traffic police.
He urged motorists to avoid illegal parking and use alternative routes during the roadwork, stressing that uninterrupted traffic flow depended not only on the efforts of traffic police but also on public cooperation.
