LAHORE, Sep 13 (APP):Akbari Gate Police arrested an active two-member gang involved in street fraud, theft, and pickpocketing using children as a cover.
According to a spokesperson here on Sunday, the two suspects named Irfan (alias kalu) and Asif, identified in the Akbari Gate area with the assistance of Safe City cameras, following this police took immediate action, traced both individuals and arrested them.
Police revealed that the suspects used to empty citizens’ pockets by deliberately staging fights and scuffles as a pretext to distract victims.
The police team recovered a motorcycle and illegal weapons from their possession.
Cases have been registered against them and further investigations were underway.
SP City Arshad Hayat stated that the net is tightening around street criminals, and operations to ensure the safety of citizens’ lives and property will continue.
