Major security measures finalized for churches, 2,496 Police personnel deployed

LAHORE, Sep 13 (APP):Under the directives of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran, foolproof security arrangements have been finalized for churches across the city in view of Sunday prayer services, while a city-wide security alert has been issued.
According to a spokesperson, as many as 2,496 police officers and personnel have been deployed for security duty at various churches to ensure safety and maintain law and order.
All Divisional Superintendents of Police (SPs), Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), and Station House Officers (SHOs) are actively monitoring field duties, while supervisory officers remain in constant coordination with church administrators.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran also conducted field visits to personally inspect the security arrangements. He visited churches in various localities, including Cantt, Model Town, and Gulberg, where he checked entry points, verified personnel deployment, and reviewed overall security measures. During the visits, he met with church administrators to discuss security matters.
Speaking on the occasion, Faisal Kamran stated that effective patrolling and checking were being ensured around all places of worship. He urged citizens attending Sunday prayer services to cooperate with police personnel on duty and immediately report any suspicious activity or individuals to the police or emergency helplines.
