CDA holds first-aid awareness activity at Lake View Park
ISLAMABAD, Sep 12 (APP):The Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Capital Emergency Services held a first-aid awareness and practical demonstration at Lake View Park on Saturday to mark World First Aid Day.
Rescue 1122 personnel, accompanied by emergency ambulances, interacted with visitors and families and demonstrated basic first-aid techniques for dealing with medical emergencies.
The rescuers briefed citizens on the importance of timely first aid, quick decision-making and appropriate action in the initial moments of an emergency, before professional medical assistance arrives.
They also explained the emergency services available through Rescue 1122 and stressed the importance of seeking professional assistance without delay during a medical or other emergency.
The practical demonstrations were aimed at familiarising citizens with basic first-aid measures and enabling them to respond appropriately while waiting for trained emergency responders.
Officials said timely first aid and an effective initial response could help reduce the risk of further harm and, in some cases, prove crucial in saving lives.
The CDA said the awareness activity was part of its efforts to promote public safety and improve citizens’ preparedness for emergencies.
World First Aid Day is observed annually on Sept 12 to raise awareness about the importance of first-aid knowledge and encourage people to acquire basic skills for responding to emergencies.
