Woman injured in firing on Charsadda vegetable market road, suspect arrested with pistol: Police

A passerby woman was injured in a firing incident on old vegetable market road within the jurisdiction of parang police station, while a suspect was arrested in an injured condition along with a pistol, police said on Saturday.

A dispute briefly broke out between two groups following which the two sides opened fire, injuring a woman who was passing by.
Upon receiving information, City police and Parang police station teams immediately reached the scene and shifted the injured woman to a hospital for medical treatment.
Police launched a pursuit to arrest the suspects. However, a short distance from the scene, the two groups again exchanged fire.
The suspects also opened fire at the police party after seeing the officers, but no police personnel were injured.
After the firing stopped, police arrested one suspect, identified as Janas, son of Misri Khan, a resident of Majoke, in an injured condition along with a pistol.
Police said he had sustained injuries from firing by members of his own group.
Police operations to arrest the fleeing suspect are continuing, while further investigation into the incident is underway.
