MoS/SAPM Fahd Haroon discusses evolving digital media landscape with media representatives
ISLAMABAD, Sep 10 (APP):Minister of State/Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Digital Media Fahd Haroon on Thursday held an interactive session with media representatives at his office to discuss the evolving digital media landscape and the opportunities and challenges emerging from the rapid growth of digital platforms.
The discussion focused on emerging trends in digital journalism, the changing dynamics of the media industry, and challenges including fake news, misinformation and disinformation. Participants also exchanged views on strengthening media engagement in the digital sphere.
Speaking on the occasion, Fahd Haroon highlighted the growing influence of digital platforms in shaping public discourse and emphasised the importance of responsible media engagement, credible information and constructive digital narratives.
He said that Pakistan’s digital transformation offered significant opportunities, particularly for the country’s young and technology-driven population, and reaffirmed his commitment to contributing towards the government’s digital agenda.
Fahd Haroon also highlighted Pakistan’s strong position in the global freelance economy, noting the country’s growing potential as a hub for digital talent and technology-enabled economic opportunities.
The MoS/SAPM exchanged views with the participating media representatives on the future of digital journalism and the need for the media sector to adapt to rapidly evolving technologies and changing patterns of news consumption.
Representatives from prominent media organisations, including Dawn, Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) and other media outlets, participated in the session and shared their perspectives on digital journalism, emerging challenges and opportunities for greater media engagement in the digital space.
The interactive session was followed by a hi-tea hosted by MoS/SAPM Fahd Haroon for the participating media representatives.
