BEIJING, Sep 10 (APP):The Chinese edition of Islamabad: The Biography was launched at the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.
The launch ceremony was hosted by Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi. The initiative aims to introduce Chinese readers to the history, development and cultural character of Pakistan’s capital.
Ambassador Hashmi expressed appreciation to the book’s authors, Dr. Aftab Azeem and Dr. Muhammad Arshad Bhatti, as well as the Chinese partners involved in bringing the publication to Chinese readers.
Ambassador Hashmi described Islamabad as a modern capital deeply rooted in an ancient civilisational landscape, saying the book provides a valuable window into both Pakistan’s past and present.
He expressed hope that the Chinese edition would encourage readers to learn more about Pakistan and experience the country beyond the pages of the book.
The ambassador emphasized that the enduring Pakistan-China friendship continues to deepen not only through diplomatic and economic cooperation but also through mutual learning, cultural exchange and a greater understanding of each other’s histories and stories.
The publication of the Chinese edition represents another step in strengthening people-to-people and cultural ties between the two countries as Pakistan and China commemorate 75 years of diplomatic relations.
