Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Isam Zeb assured Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Syed Fakhr Jehan on Wednesday.
The assurance was given during a meeting between the two officials at the minister’s office here, where they discussed the project’s funding requirements and related financial matters in detail.
Syed Fakhr Jehan urged the Planning and Development Department to expedite the approval and funding process, describing the project as a key connectivity initiative for the people of the region.
He said completion of the road would improve transportation facilities for local residents and stimulate commercial, economic and social activities in the area.
The project would directly benefit people in Buner, Mardan and adjoining areas, he added.
The minister requested the Additional Chief Secretary to complete the necessary process for placing the project before the PDWP at the earliest so that funds could be released and development work could move forward.
Isam Zeb assured the minister that the Rustum-Ambela main road project would be included in the agenda of the PDWP meeting scheduled for next week for consideration of its approval and funding.
The minister thanked the Additional Chief Secretary for the assurance and said the provincial government was giving special attention to major development projects aimed at improving communication infrastructure and bringing underdeveloped areas into the mainstream of development.
