SARGODHA, Sep 09 (APP):The University of Sargodha (UoS), following the approval of its Syndicate and in accordance with the Higher Education Department’s Permanent Workman Policy, has granted permanent workman status to 118 staff members and promoted 16 employees from Junior Clerk to Senior Clerk and from Senior Clerk to Assistant.
The appointment and promotion orders were distributed during a ceremony held at the University’s Multipurpose Hall. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas attended as the chief guest, while Chairman Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Sargodha, Abbas Haider Gondal, participated as the guest of honour. Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, deans, directors, heads of academic and administrative departments, and university employees were also present.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas described his four-year tenure at the university as the most significant period of his academic and administrative career. He thanked the university community for its support and highlighted the institution’s remarkable progress, including the launch of development projects worth Rs. 65 billion, which have helped place UoS among Pakistan’s top ten universities. He emphasized that promotions and regularization were awarded strictly on merit and in recognition of employees’ dedication and hard work.
Registrar Waqar Ahmad stated that during Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas’s tenure, more than 500 teachers and employees were regularized, 735 staff members received time-scale benefits, over 100 employees were promoted, and 118 daily-wage workers were granted permanent workman status under the Higher Education Department’s policy. He termed these achievements a result of the Vice Chancellor’s commitment and the continuous efforts of the Registrar’s Office.
Director Co-Curricular Forum Dr. Munir Gujjar also paid tribute to the Vice Chancellor’s services. On the occasion, Director Sports Mehr Ahmad Khan Haral presented a comprehensive report documenting the achievements and performance of the University of Sargodha since its establishment in 2002, which was highly appreciated by the Vice Chancellor. He also commended Mehr Ahmad Khan Haral and Dean Faculty of Science and Chairman Department of Botany, Dr. Aamir Ali, for their contributions.
