IDAP Board approves development projects, cancer treatment equipment procurement
LAHORE, Sep 09 (APP):The 79th meeting of the Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab (IDAP) Board approved several development and healthcare-related projects, including construction works at Film City, residential accommodation for doctors at General Hospital Layyah, and procurement of advanced cancer treatment equipment for the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research.
The meeting was chaired by Provincial Minister for Communication and Works (C&W) Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth here on Wednesday, while officers from Transport, Communication and Works (C&W), Planning and Development (P&D) and other relevant departments participated as board members.
CEO IDAP Captain (retd) Shah Mir briefed the provincial minister and board members on various agenda items and progress on the projects. The board approved construction of various portions at Film City and authorized IDAP to serve as the executing agency for construction of residential accommodation for doctors at General Hospital Layyah.
The meeting also approved the lowest-bidding firm for procurement of Stereotactic Radiosurgery, Linear Accelerator Multi-Energy and Linear Accelerator Single-Energy machines for the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research.
On the occasion, Minister Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth said development and construction projects across Punjab were being executed in line with modern requirements. He said provision of better public facilities and timely completion of development projects were among the government’s top priorities.
The minister emphasized that no compromise would be made on quality, transparency and merit in development projects. He said the government was working in coordination with all relevant institutions to establish modern infrastructure and improve public facilities across the province.
