Horticulture Agency intensifies efforts to beautify Murree Road
RAWALPINDI, Sep 09 (APP):The Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi has intensified efforts to beautify and maintain the green belts, medians and adjoining green spaces along Murree Road, one of the city’s major thoroughfares.
Field staff of the agency are regularly watering plants and seasonal flowers besides carrying out grass cutting, pruning, hoeing, cleaning and other horticultural activities.
According to Managing Director Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi Ahmed Hassan Ranjha, special attention is being paid to the landscaping and plantation of seasonal flowers and environment-friendly plants at various locations along Murree Road.
He said that merely beautifying green belts was not enough and their continuous maintenance and timely care were equally important. He directed the concerned officers to ensure effective monitoring of cleanliness and plant maintenance activities in major green belts and parks of the city.
The MD said that well-maintained green belts not only enhanced the beauty of the city but also helped reduce environmental pollution and provide citizens with a clean and healthy environment.
He added that beautification and landscaping activities in parks, green belts and major thoroughfares across Rawalpindi would continue.
He also appealed to citizens to cooperate with the Horticulture Agency by keeping green belts clean and protecting plants.
