KP government allocates Rs.5.6b for road construction in Galiyat

ABBOTTABAD, Sep 09 (APP):The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched a major Rs. 5.6 billion road construction and rehabilitation initiative in Galiyat to improve connectivity to the region’s major tourist destinations and provide safer and more convenient traveling facilities to tourists and local residents.

Under the project, construction and rehabilitation work is underway on 63.65 kilometers of important tourist roads, covering areas including Abbottabad, Nathiagali, Ayubia and other scenic destinations in Galiyat.

The project is aimed at improving road infrastructure and ensuring safer and smoother access to the region, particularly during the peak tourism season when thousands of visitors travel to Galiyat.

The upgraded roads are expected to provide significant benefits to both tourists and local communities. Visitors will have better and safer access to popular tourist destinations, while local residents will benefit from improved connectivity and easier transportation.

Improved road infrastructure is also expected to give a boost to the local economy by facilitating the movement of people and goods and supporting businesses associated with tourism, including hotels, restaurants, shops, transport services and other local enterprises.

The development of the road network is further expected to enhance the tourism potential of Galiyat by making its scenic locations more accessible to domestic and international visitors. Better connectivity could encourage increased tourist arrivals, longer stays and greater economic activity in the region.

The provincial government’s investment is being seen as an important step toward strengthening tourism infrastructure and creating better travel facilities while supporting the livelihoods of communities dependent on tourism in Galiyat.
