Pakistan condemns Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia
ISLAMABAD, Sep 8 (APP):Pakistan on Tuesday strongly condemned the attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against civilian and economic targets in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attacks were a violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and posed a threat to regional peace and stability.
Pakistan reiterated its support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, security and prosperity of Saudi Arabia and expressed solidarity with its leadership, government and people. It also conveyed its wishes for the swift and full recovery of those injured in the attacks.
The Foreign Office said Pakistan supported Saudi Arabia’s legitimate right, consistent with the UN Charter and international law, to take necessary measures to defend its territory, protect its citizens and residents, and safeguard its national assets against threats. Pakistan, it added, would continue efforts for lasting peace and stability in the region.
