DIG Haroon Joya visits injured ITP officer, Vows best treatment, legal action over crash

Dupty inspector General DIG Traffic/DG Safe City Muhammad Haroon Joya on Tuesday visited ITP officer ASI Mahmood, who was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle while performing duty on Srinagar Highway, and assured that all available resources would be used for his treatment.

ISLAMABAD, Sep 08 (APP):Dupty inspector General DIG Traffic/DG Safe City Muhammad Haroon Joya on Tuesday visited ITP officer ASI Mahmood, who was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle while performing duty on Srinagar Highway, and assured that all available resources would be used for his treatment.
An official told APP  that the DIG Haroon inquired after the injured officer and said senior police officers were continuously present with him to oversee his care.
He said the injured officer would be provided the best possible medical treatment under the supervision of senior doctors.
DIG Haroon  said strict legal action would be taken against the vehicle involved in violating traffic laws and subsequently hitting the police officer.
He said Islamabad Police would utilise all available resources for the treatment and recovery of ASI Mahmood.
The officer had sustained serious injuries while performing traffic duty at Police Lines Chowk on Srinagar Highway when a vehicle hit him during duty.
Senior police officers would continue to monitor his treatment and ensure that he received the required medical care, the official added.
