ISLAMABAD, Sep 7 (APP):The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has intensified its plantation activities across Islamabad to increase green cover, beautify major roads and improve the city’s environment.
According to press release issued on Monday, the Environment Wing has planted Sapium trees along 7th Avenue as part of its ongoing plantation campaign.
The authority said the plantation drive is aimed at strengthening Islamabad’s green landscape and improving the natural beauty of major roads, avenues, medians and public spaces.
The CDA said suitable tree species are being planted at carefully selected locations, with emphasis on proper landscaping and maintenance. The initiative is also intended to help reduce pollution, provide shade, support biodiversity and lessen the impact of urban heat.
The Environment Wing is carrying out plantation as a long-term initiative and is also focusing on the protection and maintenance of existing green areas, the press release said.
The CDA urged citizens to support plantation activities, protect newly planted trees and contribute to keeping Islamabad clean, green and environmentally friendly.
The authority said plantation and landscaping activities would continue at different locations across the city to further strengthen Islamabad’s identity as a green and sustainable capital.
