ISLAMABAD, Sep 05 (APP):Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Saturday, emphasized the need for a consumer-centric way forward, ensuring that ongoing reforms and privatization translate into greater efficiency, sustainability and improved outcomes for electricity consumers.
The DPM/FM chaired the meeting of the committee constituted by the prime minister for review of the proposed reforms in the power sector, the DPM Office said in a press release.
The meeting was attended by the Minister for Power, Minister for EAD, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, secretaries cabinet, power, National Coordinator-NCMC, and senior federal and provincial officials.
The DPM/FM underscored the importance of driving the reform process with a clear focus on results, institutional effectiveness and the long-term sustainability of the power sector.
The meeting reviewed progress on the reform and privatization agenda, including institutional strengthening and capacity building of key institutions of the power sector.
