Police arrest 10 suspects in sexual crime, harassment cases
LAHORE, Sep 05 (APP):Police arrested 10 suspects involved in separate cases of sexual abuse, harassment, and violence against women and children across the city.
In a statement on Saturday, DIG Operations Muhammad Faisal Kamran informed that Achhra Police arrested a school security guard, Sajid, on charges of sexually abusing a child, while Factory Area Police apprehended Ruman, who was wanted in a sexual abuse case.
Similarly, Baghbanpura Police arrested Hassan, a nominated suspect in a sexual abuse case, while Misri Shah Police apprehended Ashar for allegedly attempting to sexually abuse a child.
The DIG said six other suspects were arrested in separate cases of harassment and violence against women. Sabzazar Police arrested Owais for allegedly harassing a woman, while Millat Park Police apprehended Idris on similar charges.
Furthermore, Samanabad Police arrested Nauman for allegedly harassing and assaulting a woman, while Harbanspura Police took Tanveer into custody following a complaint concerning a woman. Sundar Police arrested Waqas for harassing a woman, and Chuhng Police apprehended Naeem on a woman’s complaint.
DIG Faisal Kamran emphasized that protecting vulnerable segments of society was among the foremost responsibilities of the police, adding that strictly zero tolerance was being observed in cases involving women and children to ensure justice for the victims.
