Horticulture Agency takes measures to beautify Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI, Sep 04 (APP):The Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi is taking various measures to enhance the beauty and greenery of the city by carrying out plantation and horticultural maintenance activities along major roads, green belts, intersections, flyovers and other important locations.
On the directives of Managing Director Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi, Ahmed Hassan Ranjha, lush green plants and seasonal flowers have been planted in planters installed along the Sixth Road Flyover.
According to officials, regular watering, pruning, trimming and cleaning of the plants are being carried out to maintain their healthy and attractive appearance. Dry or damaged plants are also being replaced with new ones.
The officials said the Sixth Road Flyover, being one of the major road corridors of the city and used by thousands of commuters daily, has been given special attention to enhance its aesthetic appeal and provide citizens with a pleasant environment.
They said horticultural teams were working on a daily basis at various locations of the city to maintain plants, trees, green belts and roadside greenery. New plants and seasonal flowers were also being planted at different locations, while existing green spaces were being rehabilitated.
Officials said plantation and landscaping not only improved the aesthetic appeal of the city but also helped reduce environmental pollution, improve air quality and mitigate the impact of rising urban temperatures.
Citizens appreciated the plantation and beautification measures along the Sixth Road Flyover, saying that greenery along major roads and flyovers provided commuters with a pleasant and refreshing environment.
The Horticulture Agency officials appealed to citizens to cooperate with the agency by protecting plants and green spaces and avoiding littering in green belts and planters.
They said the agency was committed to expanding horticultural and beautification activities across Rawalpindi to make the city cleaner, greener and more attractive for citizens.
