ISLAMABAD, Sep 04 (APP):The Rawal Dam spillway will be opened at 4pm on Friday (Sept 4) after heavy rains in the catchment area pushed the reservoir’s water level to 1,751.40 feet, prompting authorities to release excess water and direct all concerned departments and residents to take necessary precautions.
The decision was taken in view of the continued rise in the dam’s water level following heavy rainfall in its catchment area.
Authorities have urged all concerned to remain alert and take precautionary measures ahead of the opening of the spillway.
