Two Youths drown in River Jhelum

GUJRAT, Sep 04 (APP):Two youths drowned while bathing in the River Jhelum near Bhrowt village in Sara-i-Alamgir, here on Friday.

According to Rescue 1122, teams reached the spot and launched a search operation.

Witnesses said the two youths, who were engaged in extracting sand from the river, drowned after entering deep water while bathing.

The deceased were identified as Hazrat Ali, 18, son of Shaheen Gul, and Ramzan Khan, 17, son of Abdul Sattar, residents of Ghakhar Dinga.

The rescue teams conducted a three-and-a-half-hour search operation using line-search and boat-throttling techniques and recovered the bodies.

The bodies were handed over to the families and shifted to their native village, Rescue 1122 said.
