5 drug suppliers arrested, over 11kg of drugs recovered
RAWALPINDI, Sep 03 (APP):Police have intensified their crackdown against drug trafficking following arrest of five alleged drug suppliers and recovered more than 11 kilograms of drugs in separate operations.
According to police spokesperson, the Rawat Police held drug supplier and recovered 5.2 kg of hashish from his possession. Police said the suspect was a notorious drug supplier with previous involvement in cases of attempted murder, illegal weapons and drug-related offences.
In separate operations, Pirwadhai Police arrested an alleged drug supplier and recovered 2.1 kg of hashish while City Police recovered 1.5 kg from another supplier.
Banni Police arrested another alleged supplier and recovered 1.4 kg of hashish whereas Mandra Police arrested another supplier and seized 1.2 kg of the drug.
The separate cases have been registered against all five suspects and further investigations are underway.
City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera said all possible measures were being taken to eliminate the menace of drugs from society. He directed police officers to continue targeted operations against drug suppliers and take strict action against those involved in the illegal trade.
