PSX gains over 153 points

ISLAMABAD, Sep 3 (APP):The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) reversed its previous bearish momentum to record a recovery on Thursday, gaining 153.09 points, a positive change of 0.09 percent, to close at 174,929.69 points against 174,776.60 points recorded in the previous trading session. ISLAMABAD, Sep 3 (APP):The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) reversed its previous bearish momentum to record a recovery on Thursday, gaining 153.09 points, a positive change of 0.09 percent, to close at 174,929.69 points against 174,776.60 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed an increase in trading volume to 627.447 million shares, compared to 610.181 million shares traded in the previous session. However, the overall traded value decreased to Rs 25.186 billion from Rs 31.861 billion.
Market capitalization edged upwards to Rs 19.587 trillion, recovering from Rs 19.581 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 494 companies that traded in the ready market, 252 posted gains, 207 suffered losses, while 35 remained unchanged, reflecting a broad-based stabilization in market sentiment.
Tasdeeq Information led the volume chart with 94.951 million shares, followed by Cnergyico PK with 80.990 million shares and Pak Refinery with 23.941 million shares.
Among the top gainers in the ready market, Tandlianwala Sugar Mills Limited surged by Rs 43.13 to close at Rs 517.27, while Pakistan Engineering Company Limited advanced by Rs 40.20 to settle at Rs 690.18.
On the losing side, PIA Holding Company Limited B suffered a sharp decline, shedding Rs 401.00 to close at Rs 16,999.00, while Khyber Textile Mills Limited fell by Rs 122.15 to Rs 1,785.06.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 120.280 million shares with a traded value of Rs 7.448 billion, down from 191.215 million shares worth Rs 12.220 billion in the previous session.
Of the 299 companies traded in the DFC market, 181 advanced, 114 declined, and 4 remained unchanged.
