Provision of basic and quality healthcare is top priority: CM Balochistan

QUETTA, Sep 01 (APP): Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has reaffirmed that the provincial government is utilizing all available resources to ensure the provision of basic and quality healthcare facilities to the people of the province, with special focus on maternal, child, and adolescent health.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Essential Package of Health Services Balochistan in Quetta, Sarfraz Bugti expressed satisfaction over the performance of the health department, noting that all assigned tasks have been completed with dedication and responsibility.

He emphasized that the government is committed to honoring its commitments with partners and is determined to translate them into practical outcomes.

Sarfraz Bugti highlighted that 164 Basic Health Units (BHUs) have been made functional across the province, aimed at delivering healthcare services closer to the doorsteps of people in remote and underdeveloped areas.

He stressed that ensuring access to public health facilities is a fundamental part of government policy, with further measures underway to strengthen the system.

Commending the efforts of Dr. Bari in activating a hospital in a remote area of Dera Bugti, the chief minister said this initiative is a commendable example of how determination and hard work can provide essential services even with limited resources. He shared that the hospital recently witnessed its first childbirth, with the newborn named Bakht Muhammad.

Addressing criticism of his stance on law and order, Bugti remarked that he remains unfazed, as the government’s focus is on practical steps to resolve public issues rather than wasting time. He asserted that every child in Balochistan has the right to basic facilities, and the government considers it its responsibility to fulfill this right.

Sarfraz Bugti assured that the health department will continue to be at the forefront of positive and sustainable change in Balochistan. The government will expand current initiatives to ensure accessible, quality, and reliable healthcare services, bringing lasting improvements to the sector.

On the occasion, Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar also addressed the ceremony, highlighting the ongoing measures and achievements of the health department.

The event was attended by Adviser to CM on Women Development, Dr. Rubaba Khan Buledi, Opposition Leader Mir Younus Aziz Zehri, senior health officials, and other dignitaries.
