ISLAMABAD, Sep 01 (APP): Director General Safe City/DIG Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joya on Tuesday directed traffic officers to keep traffic moving smoothly during rainfall while stepping up action against lane violations, helmetless motorcyclists, non-standard number plates and tinted glasses across the federal capital.
An official told APP on Tuesday that he issued the directions while chairing a meeting of traffic officers attended by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Kainat Azhar Khan and other officials, said a press release here.
The meeting reviewed traffic management during rainy weather and measures required to prevent disruption on the city’s roads.
Haroon Joya directed officers to remain vigilant during rainfall and take necessary measures to maintain smooth traffic flow and facilitate road users.
He also ordered effective enforcement against motorists violating lane discipline and using non-standard number plates or tinted glasses, as well as motorcyclists riding without helmets.
The DIG Traffic further directed officers to address parking problems at public and tourist places, where improper parking could create difficulties for visitors and other road users.
He asked traffic officers to ensure better travel facilities for citizens and take necessary measures to keep traffic organised and roads convenient for commuters.
