LAHORE, Sep 01 (APP): A 90-year-old woman approached the open court of Lahore Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran seeking help in securing her rightful share in inherited property.
The elderly woman complained to the DIG Operations that she had been deprived of her inheritance rights. Taking notice of the complaint, Faisal Kamran directed the station house officer (SHO) Batapur to provide the woman with all possible legal assistance and take action strictly in accordance with the law.
“Legal action should be taken on the woman’s complaint and every possible assistance should be provided to her,” the DIG directed.
Several other citizens also presented complaints related to property disputes and tenancy matters during the open court.
A tenant alleged that the landlord had subjected him to violence and filed false applications against him. The DIG directed the SHO Defence-A to take action in the light of available evidence.
A complaint regarding an alleged fraud involving a Rs56 million contract was also presented.
Faisal directed the sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Chung to verify the facts and take legal action if the allegations were substantiated.
A woman alleged that her brothers had deprived her of her property rights and subjected her to violence. The DIG directed the SHO Sunder to register a case in accordance with the law.
On a complaint regarding threats by a moneylender and alleged misappropriation of money, the DIG directed the SHOs Millat Park and Gujjarpura to initiate legal proceeding.
A citizen also complained about alleged inappropriate behaviour by his son. The DIG directed the SHO Sabzazar to ensure protection to the complainant and take appropriate action under the law.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran said that complaints of every citizen were being heard attentively during the open court.
He said the prompt resolution of citizens’ problems on merit and in accordance with the law was the priority, adding that all officers concerned had been directed to ensure effective relief to complainants.
