CM reviews own-source revenue projects in Sargodha, DG Khan divisions
LAHORE, Sep 01 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday directed the authorities to use recycled plastic drain covers along roadsides and imposed a ban on placing concrete flower pots on roadsides and road medians.
Presiding over a special meeting here, the chief minister reviewed development projects to be executed through own-source revenue in Sargodha and Dera Ghazi Khan divisions.
She directed that the names of cities be prominently displayed on green, grassy plots at the entry points of every city to enhance their aesthetic appeal.
The meeting was informed that 20 projects would be completed through own-source revenue in Sargodha Division, including eight in Sargodha district, six in Khushab and six in Bhakkar.
The Sargodha city package includes construction, expansion and rehabilitation of five major roads, including Dairy Road, Azad Road, Urdu Bazaar Road, Pilot Chowk and Khayyam Chowk Overhead Bridge Road.
In Khushab, six road construction and rehabilitation projects would be completed through own-source revenue, including roads around Jahaz Chowk, DPS School and Sehgal Chowk, Mianwali Road, Main Bazaar Quaidabad and Noorpur Thal Road.
Six projects have also been approved for Bhakkar, including GPO Chowk Road, TDA Road, Kallur Kot Road and Mankera City Road. The chief minister directed that the name of Bhakkar be prominently displayed on a green and landscaped plot at the city’s entry points.
She further ordered installation of electronic traffic signals on congested roads in Bhakkar and other cities and directed removal of illegal ramps constructed outside houses that obstruct public roads and passageways.
For Rajanpur, six own-source revenue projects were approved, including development and rehabilitation of Kitab Canal-Indus Highway, Post Office Road, Akalpur and Fatehpur roads, besides other roads.
The chief minister also approved sewerage and drainage projects in rural areas, including Rojhan, Kot Mithan, Jampur and Dajal, and directed that sewerage and drainage schemes in villages be completed on a priority basis.
She also sought additional development projects for Rajanpur city and its relevant tehsils, directing the authorities to ensure quality, timely execution and improved civic facilities under the development programme.
