Pakistani students join global dialogue as International week opens in Xinjiang’s Shihezi

SHIHEZI, Sep 01 (APP):Pakistani students studying at Shihezi University joined young representatives, international journalists, experts and scholars from China and other countries at the launch of the “Sharing the Opportunities, Connecting the World” International Week, highlighting growing people-to-people and educational exchanges between Pakistan and China.
The launching ceremony of the “Sharing the Opportunities, Connecting the World” International Week was held in Shihezi, Xinjiang, on Monday. Experts and scholars from China and abroad, international journalists, international influencers, and young representatives from countries including Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Brazil attended the event.
At the keynote session, Li Jingbin, vice president Shihezi University, delivered a keynote speech. He noted that technological innovation was a key driver of agricultural development and that Shihezi University would serve the development of new quality productive forces in agriculture, promote the application of research results in Central Asia and around the world, and work together to build a community with a shared future for agriculture.
Michael Meadows, former president of the International Geographical Union, Fellow of Academia Europaea, Fellow of the Academy of Science of South Africa, and PhD from the University of Cambridge shared case studies on ecological governance and discussed approaches to desert and wetland management around the world.
At the event, guests jointly launched the “My Kulun Story” global online submission and International Youth Short Video Creation Camp. Experts, international influencers, international youth representatives, and representatives of local media organizations exchanged views and shared experiences on telling compelling stories of Xinjiang in the new era to international audiences.
The International Week will also feature activities including an overseas media tour of Xinjiang and the International Youth Short Video Creation Camp. From August 31 to September 4, international journalists, international influencers, and young representatives will visit Shihezi, Wujiaqu, Kunyu, and other areas for field research and creative exchanges focused on agricultural modernization, technology-driven development, and ecological progress. They will share stories of Xinjiang and its development in the new era.
The event is jointly organized by China International Communications Group (CICG) and the Publicity Office of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and co-organized by the Shihezi Municipal People’s Government, Xufang International Media of CICG, and Shihezi University.
