FAISALABAD, Sep 01 (APP):Rescue 1122 Faisalabad remained on the front lines of emergency response
throughout August 2026, responding to 14,477 emergency calls and providing
assistance to 14,834 people.
District Emergency Officer Engineer Ihtisham Wahla said on Tuesday that Rescue 1122 control room received 14,477 emergency calls during August while rescue teams reached the affected locations promptly and undertook operations across a wide range of emergencies.
He said that rescue personnel responded to 2,502 road traffic accidents, 10,186 medical emergencies, 118 fire incidents, 302 crime-related emergencies, eight drowning incidents and six building-collapse incidents during last month.
Rescue 1122 teams also carried out 1,233 other miscellaneous rescue operations, reflecting the broad scope of emergency services being provided to citizens across the district, he added.
He said that the emergency service also facilitated the dignified transportation of 167 bodies from government hospitals across the district to victims’ homes, ensuring that the deceased were handed over to their families with due respect.
He said that total 14,834 affected persons were rescued during different emergencies in August. Of these, 8,695 people received medical assistance at the spot while another 5,668 were shifted to various hospitals across the district after receiving initial medical treatment.
However, despite prompt response and rescue efforts, 471 people lost their lives at the scenes of different emergencies during this period, he added.
