PM attends opening ceremony of 6th Nomad Games

BISHKEK, Aug 31 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif attended the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games here on Monday.

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Japarov welcomed the Prime Minister on his arrival at the venue of the ceremony.

Other heads of state who are attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting also participated in the opening ceremony.

A contingent of Pakistani athletes will participate in the Nomad Games.

The Prime Minister applauded and paid tribute to the Pakistani contingent as it arrived in the stadium.

The spectators present in the stadium also welcomed the Pakistani contingent upon its arrival. Pakistani athletes will participate in various sports.

The World Nomad Games is an international sports competition held for traditional sports of Central Asia.

The Nomad Games consist of traditional sports rooted in the cultures of various nations of Central Asia, such as wrestling, horse racing, animal hunting traditions, archery, and mental and intellectual games.

The 6th World Nomad Games are being held in Kyrgyzstan from August 31 to September 6, 2026.

The aim of these games is to promote cultural ties, mutual understanding and cooperation between the peoples of different countries.
