SC continues consultations on standardised national e-filing framework
ISLAMABAD, Aug 31 (APP): Chief Justice of Pakistan, in his capacity as Chairman of the National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee (NJPMC), on Monday held a consultative meeting with a delegation of the Balochistan Bar Council at the Supreme Court Branch Registry, Quetta, as part of efforts to develop a standardised national e-filing framework.
The delegation was led by the Vice Chairman of the Balochistan Bar Council and comprised members from various districts of the province.
The meeting was part of the consultative process initiated earlier this month for developing a uniform and standardised e-filing system for the Supreme Court, High Courts and District Courts.
The participants were briefed on the proposed National Standardised E-Filing System, envisaged as a structured, intelligent and rules-compliant platform aligned with the procedural and legal requirements governing judicial proceedings.
The initiative aims to modernise court processes through technology, enhance efficiency and transparency, improve predictability, and make justice delivery more accessible and responsive to litigants and lawyers.
The Chief Justice underscored that the Bar, being the primary user of the proposed system, was a key partner in developing standardised e-filing templates and ensuring their effective implementation across all tiers of the judiciary.
He urged the participants to provide practical input to make the system accessible, user-friendly and responsive to the professional requirements of lawyers and litigants.
Members of the delegation welcomed the initiative and expressed the hope that the system would facilitate advocates and litigants through simpler filing procedures, effective case tracking and a unified electronic case record.
It was decided that a committee comprising the Registrars of all High Courts, two members nominated by each Provincial Bar Council and two members nominated by the Islamabad Bar Council would review and finalise the standardised e-filing templates.
Following finalisation, the templates would be placed before the National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee for consideration and appropriate policy directions.
