IED attack on police van leaves driver dead, six injured in Karak

A police mobile van was targeted in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack near Bahadur Khel in Ghol Banda mountainous area of Banda Daud Shah tehsil, Karak, leaving the driver, Wajid dead and six other police personnel injured.

PESHAWAR, Aug 31 (APP):A police mobile van was targeted in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack near Bahadur Khel in Ghol Banda mountainous area of Banda Daud Shah tehsil, Karak, leaving the driver, Wajid dead and six other police personnel injured.
According to police on Monday, the mobile van was heading towards Sardargah when the IED planted along the route exploded. All seven personnel travelling in the vehicle sustained injuries in the blast.
The injured policemen were identified as Syed Shah, Noorshali, Imran, Shamim, Gohar and Yaseen and Wahid, the driver.
They were immediately shifted to a hospital for medical treatment. However, Wajid succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The martyred police driver, Wajid, was a resident of Guddikhel.
The other six injured personnel are receiving medical treatment.
Following the incident, police and security forces cordoned off the area and began collecting evidence. A search operation is also underway to trace those involved in the attack.
